Advanced Battery Aging & Performance Testing
The AGING LAB provides advanced testing capabilities to understand how battery cells and modules perform and age under realistic operating conditions. Testing activities include electrical, thermal, and mechanical characterization within ISO 9001 and TISAX-certified processes.
Test and Scenario Planning
Every testing program begins with tailored test and scenario planning. For large experimental campaigns, we use Design of Experiments (DoE) to efficiently cover the relevant parameter space and maximize data value. The resulting test plans include state-of-the-art load profiles (e.g., HPPC, GITT, and WLPC), customized long-term and accelerated aging tests, focused voltage-hysteresis analyses, rate-capability tests, and other application-specific procedures.
Testing in an ISO Certified Laboratory Environment
We execute tests under real conditions simulated in an ISO 9001 and TISAX certified laboratory environment, providing insight into cell responses and performance analysis of degradation mechanisms.

Analysis & Evaluation
Our analysis and evaluation services include performance analysis of capacity and power fade, as well as traceable data processing, documentation, and reporting. We also investigate deviations from datasheet specifications and other anomalous behavior to identify potential performance, quality, or safety concerns.

Model development and parametrization
Based on experimental data, we develop and parametrize state-of-the-art battery models, including equivalent-circuit models that account for capacity fade and power degradation. We also support the empirical parametrization of electrochemical models and investigate advanced modelling approaches that extend beyond established state-of-the-art methods.

Measurements of Cell Breathing & Swelling
In addition to the electrical cell testing, we also offer measurements of the cells’ volume change in our customised and patented measurement set-ups. The measurements can be done on lab-scale pouch cells under controlled pressure and temperature.
