Autonomous driving in Wörgl, Tyrol
Tyrol, Wörgl – On 14 September 2024, our autonomous vehicle demonstrated its performance in the most challenging weather conditions in Wörgl. Extensive test drives of our “robo taxi” took place in heavy rain and at times dangerous road conditions. Despite the challenges, the vehicle demonstrated impressive safety and precision.
The test day started with a special drive: Wörgl’s mayor, Michael Riedhart, and the former State Secretary for Digitalisation, Florian Tursky, had the opportunity to experience the autonomous vehicle firsthand. A number of other guests were also on board and were impressed by the technology, which worked reliably even in poor weather conditions.
In the afternoon, other prominent guests such as Provincial Councillor René Zumtobel and around 50 participants at the EVU conference in Kufstein were given the opportunity to test the “robo taxi” during the demonstration drives. The participants were able to get an idea of what the future of taxi driving in Austria could look like.
