GRITLAB 2024 – Focus on Digital Twins
On the 16th of October, this year’s GRITLAB 2024 took place at the MP09 in Graz, a top-class event that focused on “Holistic Digital Methodologies & Scientific Deep-Dives“.
The latest developments, platforms, and challenges in this dynamic field were presented and then discussed in the master classes.
A central discussion point of the day was the increasing complexity of digital twins, as this term continues to weaken and this topic continues to evolve in the direction of meraverse. Experts emphasized the importance of a modular design and a clear definition of user groups to improve the usability and scalability of the technology.
The event featured a series of exciting masterclasses and keynotes that provided valuable insights into the real world. A highlight was the presentation of SBB CFF FFS, which showed how digital twins are implemented in the railway industry. Deutsche Bahn and Siemens Mobility also shared their experiences and presented solutions for the lifecycle management of bicycles as well as the Railigent X project, which was presented in the context of the RRX.
In addition to the inspiring presentations, the CONTEXT64AI booth provided an opportunity for further exchange on these innovative technologies. The keynotes and intensive discussions rounded off the event and provided all participants with valuable new approaches and ideas.
GRITLAB 2024 has once again shown how important the exchange between science and industry is to jointly master the challenges of the future and to decisively advance the digitalization of the railway industry.
