Review: Battery Safety Talk 2025
On May 26, 2025, this year’s Battery Safety Talk 2025 took place at the Volkskundemuseum in Graz – an expert forum focused on battery safety. The event brought together 100 specialists and industry representatives with a shared mission: making battery systems safer.
Eight speakers from science and industry provided exciting insights into topics such as cell chemistry, employee protection and functional safety in battery storage systems. Engaging presentations, open discussions, and real-world insights clearly highlighted one thing: safe batteries are a mandatory requirement for the future.
The Battery Safety Talk is an annual forum designed to foster professional exchange and networking among researchers, industry professionals and other stakeholders. Its goal is to actively support the transformation toward sustainable products and to develop joint solutions for improved safety in the handling of battery systems.
The event was organized by VIRTUAL VEHICLE, Green Testing Lab and ACstyria Mobility Cluster.
At VIRTUAL VEHICLE, battery safety is not just a conference topic — it’s part of our daily work. Through our in-house battery test bench, BATTCAVE, we contribute to safer and more reliable battery systems through applied research, extensive testing, and close collaboration with our partners.
We’re already looking forward to Battery Safety Talk 2026 and to continuing the important exchange on today’s challenges and future solutions in the field of battery safety.
