PACE-DPP

Data-service-ecosystem for the digital product pass

The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a key element of the European Circular Economy Strategy. PACE-DPP, a binational lighthouse project coordinated by Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH, aims to balance regulatory requirements with technological opportunities and provide solution components for the implementation of DPP-based data-service ecosystems. The ultimate goal: enabling sustainable circular economy practices and innovative business models.

Within the project, industrial use cases from the electronics sector and the wood/pulp/paper industry are explored. Key digital technologies such as data spaces and digital twins are applied to real supply chains to demonstrate their value and unlock new potentials for companies.

Project goals

  • Evidence-based development of framework conditions and requirements to support an accelerated market launch of the Digital Product Passport.
  • Future-proof demonstration of key technologies to enable DPP-based data-service ecosystems.
  • Multidimensional improvement of the circular economy through intensive use of the Digital Product Passport.
  • Support of the value chain through a DPP-based data-service ecosystem to ensure sustainable implementation of project results.
