INTIS

Integrated Infrastructure Solutions GmbH is a German engineering company and a pioneer in inductive (wireless) power transfer for electric mobility – charging vehicles straight from the road surface wherever they stop, no plug or cable required.

Description of INTIS

INTIS provides consulting, engineering and testing services to vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, municipalities and infrastructure operators. Its particular strength is rapidly delivering the complete process from ideas to functioning technology. INTIS is especially recognised for taking wireless charging out of the laboratory and into real-world demonstrators, such as the BMWi-funded TALAKO project (public-space inductive charging for electric taxis) and the Interreg-funded Kontaktlo(o)s Laden project (inductive charging for e-bikes and autonomous shuttles). This is backed by a comprehensive in-house test infrastructure: an interoperability testbed, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and field-exposure laboratories, and machine shops. INTIS also actively contributes to and shapes the international standards that underpin interoperable wireless charging worldwide.

Role and Key Contribution to the Project

In PULSE, INTIS leads the design and validation of the wireless charging technology at the core of the system. INTIS develops the ground-side inverterthe magnetic coil and pad assemblies, and the overall control and safety architecture. It also contributes to the bidirectional (vehicle-to-grid) energy transfer developed in the project, targeting end-to-end efficiencies above 92%. INTIS supports foreign-object detection and vehicle positioning, and coordinates system verification, including electromagnetic compatibility and field-exposure testing. Drawing on its strength in real-world demonstrators, INTIS is establishing a dedicated open-area electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test site, helping bring interoperable, safe wireless charging to Europe’s roads.
